On the 4th of May 2017 Mr Osborne performed Beethoven's Cello Sonata in D major Op 102 No 2 andCello Sonata in D minor Op 47 by Shostakovich with Alban Gerhardt at St Luke's.

Steven Osborne, born 1971, was named the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Instrumentalist of the Year in 2013, and his Hyperion Records recording of Prokofiev and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition won the solo instrumental Gramophone Award in the same year. He had already won Gramophone's Concerto Disc award for works by Britten in 2009, a year in which he was also short-listed for his recording of Rachmaninov’s 24 Preludes.

Mr. Osborne performed Tippett's Piano Sonata No. 3 on the 19th of September 2012 at the Wigmore Hall.

Mr. Osborne made his BBC Proms debut on the 31st of August 1998 in a performance of Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No 2 in F major with the New London Orchestra conducted by Ronald Corp.

He was born in Scotland in 1971.
