In 2012 Bartoli became the artistic director of the Salzburg Whitsun Festival.
She won a Grammy Award for Best Classical Vocal Performance for Sacrificium in 2011.
Cecilia Bartoli made her ROH debut in 2001 taking the role of Euridice and the Genio in Haydn's L'anima del filosofo. Her BBC Proms debut was on the 17th of July 1999 performing works by Haydn and Mozart with Nikolaus Harnoncourt conducting the Vienna Concentus Musicus.
Cecilia Bartoli was born on the 4th of June 1966 in Rome, and studied at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in that same city.
