Bach's Cello suite No. 1 in G performed in 2018 (October) and 2017 (March).

Pieter Wispelwey played all six of Bach's cello suites on the 6th of October 2018 at the Wigmore Hall.

Unfortunately, Pieter Wispelwey's couldn't travel to London for his concert with the Doric String Quartet scheduled for the 30th of May 2021 at the Wigmore due to the pandemic.

His concert with pianist Alasdair Beatson scheduled for the 22nd of November 2020 at Kings Place was also cancelled.

Pieter Wispelwey was born in Haarlem in 1962, The Netherlands and studied in Amsterdam, with Paul Katz in the USA and William Pleeth in the UK. He lives in Amsterdam.

He performs on a 1760 Giovanni Battista Guadagnini cello and a 1710 Rombouts, with the former being a cello and the latter a baroque cello.

He received the Dutch Music Award in 1992.

Mr. Wispelwey performed Brahms' Cello Sonatas No. 1 in E minor Op. 38 and No. 2 in F Op. 99, Schubert's Sonata in A minor D821 Arpeggione and Introduction and Variations on ‘Trockne Blumen’ D802 Op. 160 with pianist Paolo Giacometti at Kings Place on the 24th of March 2017 at Kings Place.

His concert scheduled for the 23rd of November 2015 at Wigmore Hall was cancelled due to an injury to Patricia Kopatchinskaja.
