Mr. Zukerman first directed a BBC Proms concert on the 8th of August 1972 with the English Chamber Orchestra playing works by Vivaldi and Bach.

Pinchas Zukerman was born in July 1948.

He made his BBC Proms debut on the 3rd of September 1971 playing Schubert's Sonatina for Violin and Piano in A minor D 385 and Beethoven's Sonata for Violin and Piano in C minor Op 30.2 with Daniel Barenboim.
