Christian Gerhaher sang Bach's Cantata No. 82 'Ich habe genug' with the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester under the baton of Philippe Jordan at the Royal Albert Hall on the 30 th of August 2016.
Mr. Gerhaher won the Solo Vocal Gramophone Awards in 2015 for his recording of Schubert's ‘Nachtviolen’.
Christian Gerhaher was replaced as Berg's 'Wozzeck' in a concert on the 2nd of October 2015 at the Royal Festival Hall by Leigh Melrose due to ill health
On the 6th of September 2014 Mr. Gerhaher sang the role of Christ in the St Matthew Passion at the Royal Albert Hall with Mark Padmore as the Evangelist.
This concert and the one with an identical programme on the 15th of March received rave reviews.
Mr Gerhaher made his Royal Opera debut in 2010 as Wolfram von Eschinbach in Tannhäuser and his BBC Proms debut on the 1st of September 2010 in a performance of Mahler's Songs of a Wayfarer.
His BBC Chamber Proms debut came on the 7th of August 2006 in an all Schumann song recital at the Cadogan Hall.
